We are committed to being the hands and feet of Jesus. Our initiatives include:
-
Proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ with the hope filled message of eternal salvation to those who feel hopeless
-
Providing temporary shelter and meals to those in need
-
Offering job training and counseling services to help individuals rebuild their lives
-
Advocating for long-term solutions, including affordable housing and supportive community programs
But we cannot do this alone. We need your support to sustain and grow our efforts. Would you prayerfully consider opening your hearts by joining us in a $50,000 match challenge! Every dollar raised through March 1, 2025 will go twice as far to DOUBLE YOUR IMPACT to serve those in need. With your help, we CAN meet our 2025 budget and provide hope to the most vulnerable in our community!

Your financial partnership with us ensures that all who come to us receive not only a meal and a bed, but renewed hope for a better, brighter tomorrow through the love of Christ!

Every act of kindness, no matter how small, reflects the love of Christ to those who need it most. Together, we can be a light in the darkness and bring hope to our neighbors to meet both physical and spiritual needs.
"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Matthew 11:28-30
Shepherd's House is a dedicated non-profit organization that provides shelter, support, and resources for individuals facing homelessness and crisis situations. Our mission is to offer a safe environment where individuals can rebuild their lives, access essential services, and regain their independence. Through the grace of God, compassionate care, and tailored assistance, we aim to empower those in need and guide them towards a brighter future.
Our Beginning
In 2017, the idea of a shelter in Portage was conceived. Thanks to the support of our partners, including churches, foundations, businesses, and individuals from the community, property was purchased, building renovations were completed, and staff was chosen. As of April 2022, we are now able to provide a safe and secure shelter for those in need. Commitment to making a positive impact in the community strong, and ongoing support will help us continue our mission of helping in need.
Why the Name Change?
Our mission and ministry have evolved significantly. We are pleased to announce our new name, Shepherds House, which more accurately reflects our identity and purpose.
What Does This Mean for Our Donors?
While our name has changed, our commitment to our mission remains steadfast. Your previous contributions will continue to support our work, with no alterations to our operational structure or transparency.
Moving Forward Together
We are excited about the future. We encourage you to keep us in your prayers and remain engaged in this journey. Your generous support has been vital to our success, and we look forward to continuing this partnership.
